Pulmonary Aspergillosis

Abstract
We reviewed 62 cases of pulmonary aspergillosis reported in Korea since 1966, including 8 new cases encountered at Kyung-pook national university hospital from 1984 to 1985. The results were summerized as follows.
1. Ages ranged jjetween first to seventh decades, with the majority (87.3%) in the third to fourth decades. The male to female ratio was two to one. Hemoptysis and blood tinged sputum, the leading symptoms, occured in 72. 6% and 16. 1 % respectively.
2. All of the cases were aspergillomatous type, and right and left lobes were predominantly involved (54.8% and 25.6% respectively).
3. On preoperative chest P-A X-ray finding, chrateristic "air meniscus" sign was observed in 34.4% of the cases. And preoperative sputum analysis for Aspergzllus was positi - in 22. 6% of the cases.
4. All cases had history of treatment. with antituberculous. drugs under diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis for an average of 4.35 years. But sputum analysis for acid fast bacilli was poaitive in 16. 1%, and postoperative pathologic finding showed that 28.6¢¥0 of the cases were combined with tuberculosis.
